Sweet and Spicy Chickpeas (GF)
Preheat Oven To 400 Degrees F
1 Can Garbanzo Beans (Rinsed and Drained)
1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1 tsp. Cajun Spice (I like Frontier Cajun Seasoning Certified Organic)
1 Tbsp. of Sweetener (Coconut Sugar, Raw Honey, Agave, or Monkfruit Sugar)
DIY Spice Blend
½ tsp. Paprika
¼ tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Cayenne Pepper
¼ tsp. Ground Cumin
¼ tsp. Thyme
⅛ tsp. White Pepper
¼ tsp. Onion Powder
Step 1: Preheat Oven to 400 degrees F or set air fryer to 390 degrees F
Step 2: Rinse, drain, pat dry chickpeas. PLace on a paper towel. Roll chickpeas to remove skin (optional).
Step 3: Place chickpeas in the oven or air fryer for 20 minutes (Air fryer will be closer to 15 minutes).
Step 4: Combine spice mix with olive oil in a small bowl.
Step 5: Remove chickpeas from the oven and toss with spices and oil.
Step 6: return coated chickpeas to the oven and bake an additional 10 minutes or until they are firm and rattle in the pan. Serve.
Step 6: Enjoy!
NOTE: Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Best when gobbled up on the same day.
